PERRYVILLE — Two members of the Perryville Board of Town Commissioners are the only candidates on the ballot next month in Perryville. Charlene Hall and Julie Jeric filed to run for office in the May 13 election. Hall was appointed and sworn into office last August to finish the term of Commissioner Christina Aldridge, who resigned in May 2024. Jeric was appointed in May 2024 to complete the commissioner term of Michelle Linkey after Linkey won the election to become mayor.

ELKTON — The section of Delaware Avenue that runs past Meadow Park will be closed to traffic next week so the Maryland State Highway Administration and the Town of Elkton can create a better, safer pathway over Big Elk Creek. Weather permitting, the road from Howard Street to the entrance of the park will be closed from Monday until Friday with detours in place. Lewis George, Elkton Town Administrator, said the construction would not replace the bridge but rather add to the structure.

Murray has released the fourth book in her Chesapeake Bay Mystery series that features real estate agent and sleuth Helen Morrissey once again trying to find out “whodunit.”This time, however Morrissey is the target in Villain in the Vineyard. Someone is vandalizing the homes she is trying to show and through the course of the book the vandal gets increasingly more sinister.

That’s the message from Ric Cunningham at Elkton Music Hall, 107 North St. who announced recently the addition of “Rock N Hole” starting April 21 at 6 p.m.Admission is free. Just come in and relax and play the games being offered such as corn hole, ladder golf and can jam. Cunningham said this does not shy away from the Music Hall’s full time job of bringing live entertainment to North Street.
