FORT COLLINS, Colo. — For about a month, a man provided drugs and alcohol to minors and engaged in sexual activities with at least one of them in exchange for cash and clothing, Fort Collins Police announced on Monday. John R. Fischer, 50, was arrested on April 2 on three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of human trafficking of a minor for sexual servitude.

Two people wanted in connection with an Arvada home invasion were arrested after the car they stole was spotted by a Colorado State Patrol aircraft that was returning from an unrelated mission, CSP said. Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, a "BOLO" (be on the lookout) was issued for a stolen Honda Civic, CSP said. According to the BOLO, two people went into an Arvada home and demanded money and the keys to the Civic. One of the people had a gun.

TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M. — A coach of a youth development organization for the U.S. Ski Team is accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old member of the Summit Ski team during a trip to New Mexico. Jared Hedges was arrested in Taos, New Mexico, on March 21, according to court records obtained by 9NEWS. He faces two counts of sexual assault on a child under 13.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — A homeowner intervened and rescued a woman who was being attacked in his backyard after the woman and a man crashed on Interstate 70 and fled to his yard. According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, multiple agencies responded to a rollover crash on the highway near mile marker 202.5, which is between the two exits for Frisco. While headed to the crash, deputies received two reports about a man and woman fighting in a yard near the interstate.

Opening statements could begin as early as Monday afternoon in the trial for a woman who's charged in the death of a 17-year-old Boulder cyclist, Denver Gazette news partner 9News reported Monday. On July 29, 2023, Team USA Cyclist Magnus White was training along Highway 119 just past North 63rd Street when he was hit and killed by a driver. Afterward, White's family started a foundation to bring awareness to cyclist safety nationwide. Yeva Smilianska, 24, is charged with vehicular homicide.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A 16-year-old boy accused of intentionally setting a fire near his Loveland home this month might also be responsible for other recent "concerning behavior," the Loveland Police said. According to police, the fire was reported March 20 near West 8th Street and East Kelly Drive. It was extinguished, and no injuries were reported; however, there was substantial property damage.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man riding an ATV was intentionally run over in a Commerce City park Thursday evening after being followed into the park by someone in a Honda Odyssey minivan, Commerce City Police said. The man suffered severe injuries in the attack at Rosehill Grange Park but is expected to survive, according to police.
Fort Collins high school teacher arrested on sexual assault charges

A teacher at Fort Collins High School, who is now on administrative leave, is accused of exchanging explicit images with an underage girl in 2022. Fort Collins Police Services said on Thursday they learned about the allegations in February of this year and began an investigation. They found that teacher David Miles, 48, initiated conversation with the victim through a smartphone application and sent explicit pictures of himself to her.
