    Calne residents have been complaining of a bad smell over the town for much of this year, with some even claiming it had caused them to fall ill. The Environment Agency has been investigating and in its most recent update confirmed it believes the “main source” of the odour is the Lower Compton Landfill operated by Hills Waste Solutions Ltd. It added that while this is likely to be the primary cause, there are many potential sources causing the issues.
