Officers are investigating a reported theft of goods from the Nike store in the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet which is believed to have taken place on March 29. At this stage, police have not specified what is suspected to have been taken or the value of these goods.

    2 1/1 Police have urged dog owners to keep their dogs on leads around livestock after physical attacks. Officers say they are regularly called to incidents of livestock worrying while in recent months there have been multiple reports of sheep being attacked by dogs. Wiltshire Police took part in a national campaign which saw patrols at Heaven’s Gate, Cley Hill, and Battlesbury Hillfort in Warminster, and locations in Mere, Tisbury, and Salisbury.

Police are currently investigating the crash which took place on the A303 near Mere during the night of Monday, April 14. While officers work at the scene the road remains closed between the A350 and the B3081, and the force has warned drivers this is likely to remain the case until late on Tuesday morning.

    Plans have been submitted to demolish an abandoned police station and build dozens of retirement homes. A planning application has been lodged with Wiltshire Council to redevelop the former station on George Lane in Marlborough. The site has been vacant since 2019 when it was deemed surplus to requirements by Wiltshire Police. When the proposal to build a retirement living complex consisting of 30 homes for over 60s was first unveiled last year, it attracted criticism from locals.
