ORANGE CITY—A 34-year-old Remsen woman received minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash about 10:05 p.m. Sunday, April 14, on Indian Avenue, two miles northwest of Orange City. Lydia Obase was driving north on the gravel road when she lost control of her 2009 Nissan Rogue, which entered the east ditch and rolled, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office. Obase reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

ALTON—A 22-year-old Orange City man was arrested about 7:45 p.m. Sunday, April 13, near Alton on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana first-offense possession of a controlled substance — cannabidiol and possession of drug paraphernalia.

PAULLINA—A 23-year-old rural Cleghorn man was arrested about 12:10 a.m. Sunday, April 13, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and failure to maintain control following a crash southwest of Paullina. Austin Mitchell Paulsen was driving south on Popular Avenue when he attempted to turn west onto 470th Street, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.

SIOUX CENTER—A 32-year-old Rock Valley woman was arrested about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in Sioux Center on a charge of fifth-degree theft. The arrest of Amber Marie Vonk stemmed from asset protection agents at Walmart in Sioux Center observing her placing merchandise in her diaper bag in the store, according to the Sioux Center Police Department. Vonk then proceeded past the final point of sale, where she was confronted by Walmart’s asset protection team.
