HULL—A 61-year-old Hudson, SD, woman was arrested Monday, May 5, on a Sioux County warrant for fifth-degree theft. Cindy Lou Havelaar was arrested the day before her 62nd birthday stemming from a report of her taking two sets of earrings from a booth at the Hull SpringFest Craft & Vendor Show in the Hull Community Building about 1:30 p.m. May 4, 2024, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

MAURICE — A 45-year-old Le Mars bicyclist faces numerous drug-related charges following his arrest about 6:20 p.m. Monday, May 5, in Maurice. The arrest of Joshua Allen Heitz stemmed from a report of a suspicious male walking with a bicycle southbound alongside Highway 75 near the intersection with Highway 10, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office. The caller said the walker appeared to have a second person hunched over on the bike with him.

HOSPERS—One person was injured in a one-vehicle crash about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the intersection of the Highway 60 expressway and 400th Street on the east edge of Hospers. Fifty-one-year-old Dirago Dido Sida of Sioux City was driving a south on the Highway 60 expressway when his 2012 Honda Accord struck a curb for a stop sign at the intersection, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office. He lost control of his vehicle, which entered the west ditch.
