The N'West Iowa REVIEW
The N'West Iowa REVIEW serves as the main publication of Iowa Information, Inc., a company located in Sheldon, Iowa. Founded in 1962 by Peter W. and Connie Wagner, who initially launched The Golden Shopper, the REVIEW was introduced a decade later in 1972. It was created to serve the four counties in the northwestern region of Iowa. Today, it boasts the largest paid circulation of any weekly newspaper in the state and has received numerous accolades in both state and national competitions. Published every Saturday morning, the REVIEW focuses significantly on high school sports, as well as featuring various articles and themed sections.

West Sioux hosted its second meet of the week in track and field last Thursday and notched a pair of event wins. “It was awesome and a lot of fun,” said boys coach Jerome Hoegh. “It’s good to be here at home. We have great workers.”Girls coach Aimee Flynn said it was nice not having to travel far last week after hosting the War Eagle Conference meet on Monday, May 5. “It was nice to be able to stay home last week for meets and be blessed with some gorgeous weather,” she said.

West Sioux dropped its last three girls soccer matches but looks to end the skid later last week before the start of postseason competition. The Falcons, 4-9 overall and 3-8 in the Northwest Iowa Soccer League, close the regular season with a nonconference contest on Friday at home against Sergeant Bluff-Luton. The Warriors played at MOC-Floyd Valley on Tuesday after the press deadline. West Sioux opens postseason on Monday in Class 1A Region 2 with a road game against 3-7-3 East Sac County.

West Sioux wrapped up the regular season in track and field earlier last week and starts postseason competition today (Thursday, May 15). The Falcons run at the Class 2A state-qualifying meet at Sheldon. Aside from the hosts, the other teams competing there are Central Lyon, Cherokee, Hinton, KP-WC-RV, Lawton-Bronson, Okoboji, Ridge View, Unity Christian, West Lyon and Western Christian.

West Sioux split its final two Northwest Iowa Soccer League matches and concludes the regular season on Friday. The Falcons, ranked seventh in Class 1A, finished with a 9-2-1 mark in the conference and are 10-3-1 overall. They finish the regular season with a nonconference match on Friday at home against Sergeant Bluff-Luton. West Sioux earned the top seed in Class 1A Substate 1. It plays the winner of Carroll Kuemper and Logan Magnolia in the semifinals on Tuesday, May 27.
