(KGUN) — A Tucson man who killed a five-year-old by drowning was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. 36-year-old Pablo Martinez, Jr. was sentenced last week by a United States District Judge after pleading guilty to Second Degree Murder on April 15, 2024. TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A Tucson man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder of a 6-year-old boy from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. That's according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Arizona. In the plea, 36-year-old Pablo Martinez, Jr. admits to holding the victim under very hot running water, from a bathtub faucet, for five to 10 minutes. The victim eventually died after inhaling water hot enough to burn his throatand kill him. That happened September 29, 2019.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The group Arizona for Abortion Access is expected to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot this November. Arizona law requires 383,923 verified signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot. The group has until Wednesday, July 3 to submit signatures for verification, but already said it has collected 506,892.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — NASA announced its OSIRIS-REx team — which recovered samples from the ancient asteroid Bennu — has won the prestigious Collier trophy.
