In the day-to-day busyness of life, it’s often hard to give your child the full attention they deserve, especially if there are siblings in the household. Kids can often feel like they don’t get the one-on-one time they want and need with you, and as a mom of twins (one who has autism) I feel this in my soul. While my 13-year-old son and I have a great relationship, our conversations are often cut short due to my daughter’s needs.

But with the opening of New Jersey’s first and only freestanding cancer hospital—just the 13th of its kind in the nation—there’s renewed hope for patients and their families. RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute (the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center) will unveil the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center with a ribbon cutting in New Brunswick on May 13.
