Since 1981, the second week of April has been recognized as National Public Safety Telecommunicators week. During this week, we celebrate the men and women who are the heartbeat of our department. On April 9, Pack 439 from Ellendale United Methodist Church paid a visit to Station 1. They got to visit with the crew and have a tour of the station and equipment. One of the scouts, Matthew Arp, had a much more serious visit 5 years ago when he wasn’t feeling well. After being evaluated by Paramedic Sonny Harrison, now retired, Matthew was taken to LeBonheur by his parents where they were told he had a form of leukemia.

BARTLETT – Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, located at 2986 Kate Bond Road, will host a stroke support group for patients, caregivers, and family members on April 15th at one p.m. in the hospital’s Magnolia Room. The group will offer attendees the opportunity to meet other stroke survivors and caregivers, learn how to manage and overcome new challenges, and share resources. This month’s focus will be the importance of physical and occupational therapy in stroke recovery.

Collierville Fire Assists in Selmer Tornado ResponseBy Jennifer PrestonTown of ColliervilleThursday, April 3, 2025, members of Tennessee Task Force One (TN-TF1), including personnel from Collierville Fire Department, were deployed to Selmer, TN, after an EF3 tornado devastated parts of the community.  Chief John Selberg, who also serves as the West TN Fire Mutual Aid Coordinator, received the call early Thursday that Selmer needed advanced search and rescue support.
