A Sedalia man was seriously injured in a crash where a 13-year-old was driving. The Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report stated that the crash happened Friday at 6:24 p.m. on Missouri Route B at Secluded Loop in Benton County. The report states that a 13-year-old boy was driving a 2005 Saturn. The car went off the roadway and hit a tree. The driver and a passenger, an 11-year-old girl, both from Sedalia, were taken to Bothwell Medical with moderate injuries.

An invasive species is being used to help rehabilitate injured raptors. The Missouri Department of Conservation said they were made aware of an invasion of red swamp crayfish in Stephen’s Pond on the campus of the University of Missouri. MDC staff worked with professors from the MU departments of Natural Resources and Landscaping Services to remove the crayfish. The MDC trapped and removed over 3,000 of the animals. They were donated to the MU Raptor Rehab.
