ROWAYTON, Conn. — Runners of all ages and experience levels are invited to take part in the 45th annual RCA Father’s Day Fun Run on Sunday, June 16. The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at the Rowayton Community Center and features scenic, USATF-certified courses through Rowayton and Bell Island. Participants can choose between a short 2.2-mile course or a longer 4.4-mile run. Children under 15 may only run the short course, and an adult must accompany those under seven.

The Oak Hills Park Authority is once again hoping to get a better restaurant into its facility. “By the end of January, middle of January, the current licensee Dry Dock Smokin’ Aces will be out of there on an amicable basis, having paid what he owes us, and we will be good,” Oak Hills Park Authority member Alan Dutton told the Board of Estimate and Taxation at its Monday meeting.

Despite being three years out of the height of COVID-19, academic performance in Connecticut schools is still below pre-pandemic levels, according to new data. Norwalk Public Schools is not an exception, though the district’s 2022-23 science performance index is less than one point below its pre-pandemic level and is actually a bit higher for students who are not multi-language learners.

NORWALK, Conn. — The Norwalk Health Department and UConn’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program staffs recently held their annual Harvest Ball for families who took part in this year’s “Growing Gardens, Growing Health” program at Fodor Farm. The families got certificates recognizing their cultivation and harvesting of fruits and vegetables on assigned plots under the tutelage of master gardeners and Health Department personnel.
