CLEARFIELD – A committee is being formed in Clearfield County to plan a celebration in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the integral role of the Keystone State. On Tuesday, the board of commissioners announced numerous appointments to the America 250/PA 250 Clearfield County Advisory Committee that will operate under the Clearfield County Recreation & Tourism Authority/Visit Clearfield County.

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman won’t seek retention in 2025. Currently Ammerman is serving the final year of his third term on the bench, and will retire Jan. 4, 2026. He was first elected judge in 1994 and previously served as district attorney. He recently advised members of the Clearfield County Bar Association of his decision, stating it’s been a “privilege” to serve the bar and county citizens for so many years.

CLEARFIELD – Addicted parents with active Children & Youth cases in Clearfield County may soon have in-home drug and alcohol services available to them. Tuesday the board of commissioners voted to approve a request for proposals to solicit D&A counseling services, as its CYS office has plans of offering a new in-home program.

CLEARFIELD – The creation of two new adult probation officer positions was approved by the Clearfield County Salary Board on Tuesday. These positions will add an ARD and institutional officer, with the court to fund both salaries through its Probation Supervision Fund. Salaries will amount to $85,000 per year for four years, with the county to cover associated health insurance costs.

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Salary Board on Tuesday voted to approve the 2025 salary increases for the non-union salaried employees to be effective Jan. 1. Most employees received a $4,200 salary increase, per Commissioner Dave Glass, noting that some did receive less such as those who were more recent hires or who only work part-time. The raises were approved with a 3-1 board vote with support coming from Glass, Commissioner Tim Winters and Controller Rob Edwards.
