CLEVELAND — We’re halfway through April, so let’s check in. How’s it felt lately? The correct answer would be … rather cool so far. Temperatures are running 2.8° below average for the month. That’s after March finished 4.8° above average. That’s quite a difference. We’re yet to have an April day warmer than March. 78° was the hottest day on April 14. So far in April, the 14th has also been the warmest day, but with a high of only 72°. We’ve got a lot of warming to do.

CLEVELAND — This might be tempting fate, but how about a snowfall round up? This 2024-2025 snow season was definitely more active that last year, but still came in below average overall. As least the ski hills had more than one weekend this year! Official snow totals are recorded at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Hopkins measured a total of 31.3”. That’s only about half of the season average of 63.8”. This season had 57 days with measurable snowfall, 10 of those had accumulations of at least 1”.

CLEVELAND — Temperatures have been struggling lately, but have you noticed the extra daylight? As we've been moving through this early part of the year, the amount of daylight has been slowly increasing. It's just a minute or two each day, but all of those minutes really add up. This is the time of spring where the extra daylight becomes a little more noticeable. April 8 marks a couple of "milestones," if you will.

CLEVELAND — Welcome to Daylight Saving Time! The clocks have officially gone forward an hour. So what does that mean and why is it done? After losing an hour of sleep Saturday night, you'll likely notice a difference in the daylight hours this week. If you're up early or sending kids out to the bus Monday morning, it will be noticeably darker. Sunrise time will be closer to 7:45 am to start the week for Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — Cold temperatures have been abundant so far this year. February followed pace with January for below average temperatures. The month came in 2.8° below average. This is the first time for back to back below average months since the summer of 2023. That stretch had 4 straight months that came in below average for temperatures. We still have a way to go before we get to that kind of streak. While below average overall, temperatures were a touch better than in January.
