    BRISTOL — In their second of back-to-back non-league games, Watertown High School lost at Bristol Eastern High School, 74-30 in a boys’ basketball contest on February 10. The loss dropped the Warriors to 2-15 overall on the season; the Lancers, meanwhile, continued their solid play with their sixth consecutive win boosting their record to 14-3.

    WATERTOWN — In their last road game of the regular season, the Watertown High School girls’ basketball team lost at Torrington High School, 49-45 on February 7. The loss was a crucial one for the locals, as the teams came into the game with 2-3 record in the NVL’s Division B standings, but the win lifted the Raiders into sole possession of third place at 4-2 (11-6 overall) while the Warriors fell to 2-4 (10-7 overall).

    It’s time. After 30 years, it’s time to recharge, take a few breaths and see what the next chapter of life has in store.     SHELTON — The Watertown-Pomperaug hockey team’s nine-game unbeaten streak came to an end on February 7 when the Warriors dropped a 4-2 decision to Masuk High School at the Twin Rinks in Shelton. Nick Kondub of Masuk led the Panthers with a three-goal hat trick, scoring once in each period. Kondub, a senior, gave Masuk a 1-0 lead at 4:48 of the first period; 63 seconds later, the Warriors tied the score on Noah McGattigan’s goal, assisted by Joe Kovach.

    NEW HAVEN — The Watertown High School Indoor track teams competed in their respective state meets this past weekend and produced some great efforts that led to many season best performances. Junior Eli Crofford led the boys effort in the Class M championships on February 10 by sprinting to a new career best time of 6.99 in the 55 dash.
