The Waterville Fire Department has two ambulances, with a third as a backup, tucked away in a nearby firehouse bay. Department officials are trying to convince the city to foot the bill for additional positions so they can fully staff that third ambulance. People who live in Saco are raising concerns about the city's effort to assess their property. Residents received letters in the mail from the Saco Assessing Department, which alerted them that data collection has begun and that collection efforts include an interior inspection. Other residents have found yellow tags hanging on their doors, which alerted them that data collectors had stopped by and still needed to get inside for a property inspection.

The unsolved murder of a Maine woman who was killed at a Lewiston laundromat almost 50 years ago is the subject of a book that is set to be released next week.The family of Dorothy "Dottie" Milliken is hoping the new book will generate new leads in the cold case.Milliken, a 27-year-old mother from Sabattus, was found beaten to death outside what was Beal's Laundromat at 969 Lisbon St. in Lewiston on Nov. 6, 1976."Somebody out there knows something.
