TYLER, Texas — Baseball hasn’t changed much over the course of the last century. The field sizes are the same, the game length is the same and the schedules full of series remain the same. Softball is the same way, just on a smaller scale. TYLER, Texas — There aren’t many people Rob Shields' age still learning things for the first time. Golf had always been a part of Shields' life. His first clubs came at six years old. When he turned 50, he became a senior club professional player. Two years ago though, he had to relearn how to do all of it.

LONGVIEW, Texas — There’s just something about Spring Hill's Grant Burton this season. Head Baseball Coach Garret Methvin knew he was a solid player, but last year he threw just 12 innings. Now he’s over 60 deep and just punched strike out No. 100 against Van Alstyne in round three of the playoffs. “Grant's been a sort of a surprise for us this year," Methvin said. "We when, you know, we know he's a good player.
