CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sparks fly when there is an Angel in the outfield for the Guardians, and in his latest outing Angel Martínez showed why he can be a big part of Cleveland’s success. Martínez tied his career high with three hits Tuesday, including his first career triple in Cleveland’s 6-3 win against the Orioles at Camden Yards. In four games since being recalled from Triple-A Columbus last week, Martinez is batting .571 (8 for 14) with three extra-base hits and three RBI.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Logan Allen was in command Tuesday, limiting the Orioles to a pair of hits in 5 2/3 shutout innings as the Guardians opened their six-game road trip with a 6-3 win against Baltimore at Oriole Park. Steven Kwan launched his third home run, a two-run shot down the right field line off Baltimore starter Charlie Morton that broke the game open in the fifth, while Angel Martínez finished with three hits and a stolen base, and José Ramírez joined Gabriel Arias with two apiece.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The only thing consistent about Baltimore’s left field wall since 2022 has been its inconsistency. The Orioles moved the wall back four years ago and eliminated some seats that were close to the field making it harder for opposing right-handed sluggers (including Aaron Judge) to hit home runs. The problem, they discovered, was that their own hitters had trouble reaching the seats and it was costing them opportunities to score.
