    NEW YORK (PIX11) – A cold front will move toward the region Friday and then slowly move offshore this weekend. We can expect partly sunny skies Friday afternoon with temperatures that will remain above average. The high will be 85 in the city and low to mid-80s in the suburbs. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms possible as the front will slowly drift through the area. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler with a high of 76 in the city and low to mid-70s in the suburbs.

An air quality alert remains in effect again Thursday for portions of the tri-state area. We can expect hazy sunshine on Thursday afternoon with temperatures that will feel more like summer. The high will be 90 in the city, upper-70s for coastal sections and upper-80s to low-90s over inland spots.
