It is owned by Mission Broadcasting and is run by Nexstar Media Group, which is the majority owner of CW, through a local marketing agreement (LMA). Established in 1948, WPIX has its studios and offices in the Daily News Building, situated on East 42nd Street, often referred to as "11 WPIX Plaza," in Midtown Manhattan. The station broadcasts from its transmitter located at the iconic Empire State Building.

    MIDWOOD, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A man is accused of slitting his girlfriend’s throat with two knives in her Brooklyn home last week, authorities said. John Roseau, 32, allegedly killed 26-year-old Dahana Jean inside 1886 New York Ave. in Midwood on June 9, according to the criminal complaint. Officers conducting a wellness check found Jean with a neck injury in the home on the night of June 12, according to the NYPD. The medical examiner deemed the incident a homicide.
