HOLLY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Over 1,000 residents have signed a petition to save the historic Stiff's Mill Pond Dam in the Village of Holly, which dates back to the 1840s. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has asked the village to drain the pond immediately to reduce water pressure on the dam, but won't allow it to be refilled until repairs are made.

CANTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — It's tennis season in Southeast Michigan, and a Canton High School squad of 50 strong-willed young Cobras is getting ready. "We have matches set up; we are doing practice every day," said 17-year-old Caitlyn Laidlaw. Caityln and 18-year-old Saee Pawar are the captains of the women's team. "You know, we both are seniors, and we've had a lot of fun over the past few years, like a lot of team bonding, our team is very close-knit, so, it was pretty sad," said Saee.

(WXYZ) — Car thefts have been rising steadily across Oakland County for years, but now West Bloomfield police say criminals are using increasingly advanced technology to get away with your vehicle, without ever needing your keys. Police say they're using a tool called a ProPad, a legitimate locksmith device that can be used to clone key fobs and program new ones. The warning comes after a car theft early Friday morning involving a well-known member of the community.

When I have to get over for cars, I’m a little nervous I’m going to roll an ankle,” said Megan Makin, who frequently runs in the area. Truck driver Karl Savage said the problem is just as bad, if not worse, behind the wheel.

Russell Soto is a car and sim racer as well as one of the coaches at Superlap - Metro Detroit's first state-of-the-art sim racing facility. "This is a training tool to help you be prepared for the real-life thing." Russell said.
