Bay FC’s Penelope Hocking and Rachel Hill scored second-half goals three minutes apart but Bay had to settle for a 2-2 draw when Houston scored with two minutes left on Saturday night. Hocking scored in her third straight match when she tied the match at the 53rd minute at Shell Energy Stadium. Shortly thereafter, Bay FC (3-2-4) had its first lead when Rachel Hill scored her first goal of the season on a right-footer from the center of the box off an assist by Racheal Kundananji.

Stanford’s softball team broke a pair of program records Saturday while steamrolling host Oregon 14-1 to advance to Sunday’s Eugene Regional Final. The Cardinal (42-11) blasted a postseason school record four home runs – one each for Joie Economides, Allie Clements, River Mahler and Jade Berry – and pitchers Alyssa Houston, Zoe Prystajko and Kylie Chung held No. 16 Oregon to just one run on three hits.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The San Jose Earthquakes ran their unbeaten streak to five Saturday night after a 0-0 draw with the New England Revolution in coach Bruce Arena’s return to Foxborough, Mass. Arena, who coached New England from 2019-23, replaced San Jose goalie Daniel after halftime with Earl Edwards Jr., who made 15 starts in goal for the Revolution from 2021-24. Edwards finished with two saves while completing the shutout.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Max Arfsten scored in the 61st minute, Sean Zawadzki added his first goal of the season and Patrick Schulte had five saves Saturday night to help the Columbus Crew beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1. San Jose (3-6-1) has lost three consecutive games following a 6-1 win over D.C. United on April 6. The Earthquakes are 1-6-1 following back-to-back wins to open the season.

Midfielder Kiki Pickett scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute, and it was a special one. Her long-distance half-volley rattled off the crossbar and into the back of the net. The goal from the top of the box was the second score of the season for the former Stanford standout. Bay FC goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz had a save on the Courage’s lone shot on goal.
