The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for Casey. She is feeding people every day and finding plenty of people in the damaged area that still cannot cook.

(First Alert 4) - After 19 dogs infected with parvovirus were euthanized, the head of the St. Louis County Health Department initially said in a press conference it was a collective decision. But on Thursday, we learned that decision was made by one person — and the department head didn’t even know about it until afterward. “Honestly it hurt. It was a major setback for the animal shelter,” said Dr. Kanika Cunningham, the St. Louis County Health Director.

(First Alert 4) - North City resident Melissa Rodgers said she’s a bit paranoid after her home on Walton Avenue got beat up in the storm. “I’ll be on my porch most of the time, during the night,” said Melissa Rodgers. The home is still livable and the streetlights are now on outside, but her place has no power — making the back pitch black at night. “I have a child, that’s the main thing, I have a child,” said Rodgers.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - After tornado sirens failed to activate in St. Louis, a tornado tore through North City, destroying thousands of homes and claiming five lives. But a few weeks earlier, the head of the city’s emergency management department had warned city leaders that the department needed help. Following the siren failure, Commissioner of Emergency Management Sara Russell is now on leave. But just weeks ago, they were at City Hall saying the department needed money.
