    Jordan, N.Y. — People living in some homes in Jordan had to evacuate Tuesday night when water from Skaneateles Creek overflowed its banks, flooding parts of the village. About five to 10 homes in Jordan were forced to evacuate, Jordan Mayor Casey Brim said in a news release Wednesday. Around 9 p.m., the village was advised that the creek was cresting in numerous areas.

    Syracuse, N.Y. — A person was reported shot Wednesday afternoon on James Street on Syracuse’s North Side. The shooting was reported at about 4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of James Street, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center. More than 20 patrol vehicles from the Syracuse Police Department and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office were at the scene. James Street has been closed to traffic.     Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was fatally shot Wednesday evening on Syracuse’s North Side during a fight, police said. The man was identified as Mason Doran, 26, according to Syracuse police Chief Joseph Cecile. Doran was shot during a fight with two other people, Cecile said at a Thursday afternoon news conference. One of the people went to a car to get a gun and shot Doran, he said. The shooting was reported at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Neutral Court.
