This video shows the moment police smash their way into a Yorkshire home to find a sophisticated cannabis grow set up. South Yorkshire Police released the video after a 34-year-old man had been arrested following a raid on the address in Broughton Avenue in Bentley, Doncaster. Members of the Doncaster North Neighbourhood Policing Team smashed their way into the property after gaining a legal warrant.

A DJ based in Leeds who took advantage of his position to groom and rape teenage girls alongside his adopted sister has been jailed. Darren Gibson worked as a DJ across Leeds and raped and indecently assaulted two of his victims between 2002 and 2008. Both of his victims had attended discos in Leeds when they met Gibson, who is now 54. He exchanged numbers with one of the girls and arranged for her to go to his house the next day.

Police have issued a new image of a man who has been missing for almost a week. Michael Johnston was last seen on Thursday, October 17 and was reported missing at 9am that same day. He was later spotted at around 9.50am around the River Aire and Aire & Calder Navigation at Thwaite Lane, Stourton. West Yorkshire Police said its officers remain concerned for his welfare and are continuing to appeal to the public for help in finding him.

A petrol station worker is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after he was run over trying to stop someone who was driving off without paying for their fuel. West Yorkshire Police were called at 2.22am on Sunday (Oct 20) following a report that a staff member at the Esso on Castleford Road in Normanton had been run over. A statement from the force said the worker had run out of shop to try and prevent the Audi from driving off without paying for fuel when he was hit by the car.

Thousands of runners took to the streets of York this weekend to take on the Yorkshire Marathon 2024. The event, which is among the several in Yorkshire which is organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All charity, took place on Sunday (Oct 20), with the main event starting at 9.30am. The 26.2 mile race saw runners start and finish at the University of York before taking in some of the stunning sights both in the historic city centre and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
