The median home price in Suffolk County rose to a record high in May, while the pace of appreciation for single-family houses in Nassau County slowed last month. In Suffolk County, the median price of a single-family home increased 6.2% to an all-time high of $690,000 in May compared with the same figure a year earlier, according to new data released Monday by OneKey MLS. In Nassau, the median rose 2.5% from the previous year to $810,000.

A new Lynbrook apartment building will open next month — and apartment hunters can apply through July 7 to qualify for one of 20 units being offered with below-market rents. The units are located in The Langdon, a 201-unit luxury building across from the village's train station. The project was developed by Garden City-based Breslin Realty Development Corp. and Fields Grade Development, which is based in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Heatherwood Luxury Rentals kicked off construction on a 165-unit mixed-use apartment building on East Main Street in Riverhead, advancing a project nine years in the making. Heritage on Main, between Main Street and the Peconic Riverfront, will be the latest element of Riverhead's downtown revitalization when the building opens to tenants in summer 2027, according to Heatherwood.

The New York Attorney General's Office on Thursday asked a Suffolk County Supreme Court judge to halt the eviction of an East Hampton family while the office investigates fraud allegations against a local real estate investor. Assistant Attorney General Tashi Lhewa appeared in court Thursday in Riverhead to argue a motion to freeze the eviction of Juan Amon and his family.
