RAMAPO, N.Y. (PIX11) — A toddler was fatally struck by a car on Monday in Ramapo, according to police. A call came in of a 2-year-old child struck around 3 p.m. to Calvert Drive. Officers discovered the child was struck by a Honda Odyssey driven by a 21-year-old, according to police. The child was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said. The crash is under investigation, and police have said there are currently no criminal charges.

CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) — Police are searching for a person accused of using an item to damage a flag in front of a restaurant in Chelsea on Tuesday, according to officials. The suspect allegedly walked up to the flag in front of ZiZi at 182 Eigth Ave. and used a sharp object to cut an Israel, American combination flag and separate it in half around 8 p.m., according to officials. The suspect left on foot, and no one was injured. Police said the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — As the weather changes and New York City starts to feel like fall, some of the city’s summer favorites will close. New York City’s public beaches will close for swimming on Sunday, Sept. 8, according to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation website. Beaches have been open since Memorial Day weekend.
