    COLLEGE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ)– Construction is underway at the site of the former Macy’s at the Nittany Mall, to transform it into the Happy Valley Casino. The Casino announced its official name and logo last week. CEO and manager of Happy Valley Casino, Eric Pearson, said that he hopes that the 750 slot machines, 30 table games, and 2 dining options will help rejuvenate the mall.

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ)– After changes and years of discussion, the Johnstown City Council voted Wednesday evening to approve the designs for major upgrades to the city’s Central Park. The plans from CJL Engineering and UpStreet Architects passed in a six-to-one vote. Since the original designer stepped away from the project, a few changes were made to the plan, including the addition of a platform in the center where the Christmas Tree will sit.

    (WTAJ) — Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect they believe may be responsible for a string of car thefts in two counties. Both the Richland Township Police Department and the Bedford Police Department are investigating the case of the stolen cars. Richland officers shared that one vehicle was stolen from Cernic University Towing and Repair, but has since been located. Video captured a man checking the handles on several vehicles to see if they were left unlocked.

    BOALSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ)– Boalsburg wrapped up its remembrance ceremonies Monday evening, bringing the Memorial Day Weekend to a close. The town has long heralded itself as the birthplace of the holiday, even though the federal government recognized Waterloo, New York, by that title in 1966. Nonetheless, the community has staked its claim on the holiday.
