(Troy University Athletics) The Troy Trojans (33-24) saw their 2025 season come to a close on May 7 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in a 5-4 loss to No. 9-seed James Madison Dukes (26-25). Troy is hosting the Sun Belt Tournament this season but won’t make it past the first round.

Published 1:10 pm Thursday, May 8, 2025 After a Tuesday disappointment against Alabama, the No. 14-ranked Troy Trojans (35-15) rebounded to beat the Samford Bulldogs (24-23) by a score of 12-8 on May 7 in the final non-conference game of the regular season. Troy held on to a slim 9-8 lead going into the top of the third inning when the Trojans scored three runs to go up 12-8. Samford managed just one run in the bottom of the ninth and Troy held on for its 35th win of the season.

Published 1:00 pm Thursday, May 8, 2025 Troy men’s basketball coach Scott Cross announced the signing of former Texas Tech forward Corbin Green from the transfer portal on May 8. Green is a 6-foot-5-inch, 230-pound Midlothian, Texas, native. Green earned All-Region and District MVP as a senior at Midlothian High School before playing for a year at USAFA Prep School in 2021-2022. Green then began his college career at the Air Force Academy. As a freshman, Green played in 24 games and started 12.

Published 12:42 pm Thursday, May 8, 2025 On Wednesday, Truman State University in Missouri announced the hiring of Troy University assistant basketball coach Mike Worley as the school’s new head men’s basketball coach. Worley was the longest tenured coach in the Sun Belt Conference prior to his departure from Troy. He spent the past 12 seasons as an assistant coach at Troy, helping the Trojans win two Sun Belt Championships and make two NCAA Tournament appearances during that span.
