    Published 1:08 pm Monday, April 14, 2025 A number of high school baseball teams in the area wrapped up their regular season last week and four teams will continue on into the postseason. The Charles Henderson Trojans (19-13) split a Class 5A, Area 3 doubleheader with the Andalusia Bulldogs on April 11. Charles Henderson won the first game by a score of 3-1. Chase Vaznaian went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles and an RBI to lead CHHS at the plate.

    Published 12:13 pm Monday, April 14, 2025 Redistricting is a requirement after a lot of censuses, due to population growth, decreases or shifts, and the Troy City Council will hear the reading of a proposed redistricting plan on April 22. The City of Troy moved to a mayor-council form of government in 1985 with five single-member districts, which means all five districts have to have an equal number of voters within a deviation of plus or minus five percent.

    Published 11:42 am Monday, April 14, 2025 The Troy Trojans (27-19, 6-9) lost a Sun Belt Conference series at home to the Georgia Southern Eagles (27-16, 11-4) this weekend. Troy opened the series with a 2-0 shutout win on April 11. Troy picked up the win with a dominant pitching performance along with a pair of solo home runs from Taylor McKinney and Annie Orman. McKinney led Troy at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and one run.

    Published 11:15 am Monday, April 14, 2025 The Troy Trojans football team took to Veterans Memorial Stadium on April 12 to finish off spring practices with the annual T-Day Game in front of Trojan fans. The game was surrounded by a number of festivities that included the annual Lunch with Legends luncheon, Kids Camp with nearly 200 children taking part and the Tory Athletics Yard Sale. The game itself was different from a typical spring scrimmage.
