NORTH MUSKEGON, MI – The No. 2-ranked Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team didn’t want to waste any time setting the tone in its Division 4 showdown with No. 4 North Muskegon on Thursday afternoon. The road Warriors blitzed the Norse at the start of the match and netted a goal from senior standout Nora Pollock off an assist from teammate Maria Eenigenburg eight minutes into the contest.

The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan released its 2024-25 all-state teams this week, and 14 Muskegon-area girls basketball players were honored. Four local players earned a spot on the BCAM’s Best list, which is the coaches association’s version of first team all-state honors. NOTE: An athlete can only be considered for BCAM honors if their team’s coach is a member of the organization. Follow along to see which local athletes earned BCAM’s top postseason honors.

Whitehall senior standout Cam Thompson headlined the local contingent by earning a spot on the Best of the Best list, which recognizes the top players in the state regardless of division. BIG RAPIDS, MI – Trinidad Chambliss is making the jump from Division II to Division I. The All-American quarterback from Ferris State University led the Bulldogs to a Division II national championship this past season but will be taking his talents to the SEC this fall as a member of the Ole Miss football team. Chambliss is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job for the Rebels as the program looks to replace the production of potential NFL first-round pick Jaxson Dart.
