(KPTV) - Advocates for services across Oregon that work to prevent domestic violence and protect survivors rallied outside the state capitol Wednesday, saying they’re at risk after losing federal funding and they want the state to step in. For some, the defunding feels personal. Kellee Harris’ daughter Kelsey was a teacher, a counselor and a coach. She was in a physically abusive relationship and died in 2021.

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (KPTV) - After a man and a woman were found dead on Tuesday inside a home in Battle Ground, police said on Wednesday that a third person found critically hurt in the house is now suspected of killing the other two. Shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, officers were called out to a medical emergency in the 2100 block of Northeast 2nd Avenue. Police say a 911 caller reported multiple people down inside the home.

FAIRVIEW, Ore. (KPTV) - The Reynolds School District says several catalytic converters were stolen during a break-in at its transportation yard. The break-in happened over the Memorial Day weekend. The district says six catalytic converters were cut and removed from buses parked in the yard, located at 20311 Northeast Glisan Street. The theft did not impact students getting to school on Tuesday, the district told FOX 12. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the break-in and theft.

ESTACADA Ore. (KPTV) - A 4-year-old boy in Estacada is recovering after falling 12 feet out of a window on Saturday while his family was moving into their new home. Now, the McDonald family is warning people about how easily a window screen can pop out, and ways to prevent a fall. Michele McDonald, Tate’s mother, said his fall happened all too fast - and just two hours after the family started unpacking.
