A man was arrested in Pembroke Pines on Saturday, accused of using his deceased mother's identity to transfer money, police said. Walter Woods, 69 is facing three counts of fraud/attempt to use ID of another person without consent and one count of fraud/using personal ID of deceased. According to Pembroke Pines, in June 2020, the victim, 83-year-old Birtell Troup was in the hospital until her death on July 23, 2020.

Roads have reopened after a crash involving a tanker truck and a Broward County bus left one person hurt and erupted into a massive fire on Interstate 595. It happened at around 10 a.m. Sunday, when a gasoline tanker was traveling westbound on I-595 just east of Southwest 136th Avenue when it sideswiped a disabled and unoccupied Broward County Transit bus that was parked on the left shoulder, Florida Highway Patrol said.

SWAT teams on Wednesday arrested a man in Miami who is accused of breaking into an apartment and stealing a victim's belongings. Peter Alexander Peraza, 35, is facing several charges including, third-degree grand theft, burglary with assault and strongarm robbery. According to Miami Police, a search warrant was issued for the Bay Parc Apartments.

A young girl who was struggling in the water at a beach in Pensacola was saved after a drone carried and dropped a floatation device. Cellphone video captured by Robert Nay showed the unique air rescue. According to Nay, three young girls were in the water, swimming on a red flag, when one of them got caught in a riptide. When the girl started to struggle, Nay said a man who was shark fishing at the beach saw the incident, grabbed a floatation device and flew it out to the girl with his drone.

Five suspects from Miami were arrested for a 2023 fatal hit-and-run in Sarasota, deputies said. Antonio Carbonell, 38; Allen Hunt, 29; Samuel Rosemond, 22, and Micheal Trillo, 22, are facing several charges, including second-degree felony murder while Edwin Norris, 31, was charged with felony murder and 20 counts of traveling to Commit a burglary.
