Construction is underway downtown, adding residential units and retail spaces to historic, two-story buildings at 604-608 Jefferson Street. Real estate developers Jesse Caston, Partner with CDM Real Estate Services, and Mike Mohrfeld are conducting the mixed-use project at the former Dehner Seed and Supply Co., which will be called Dehner’s Lofts. The building’s 1800s look will be restored. “We are trying to incorporate as much of the original character of the building as we can,” said Caston.

Front St., potentially has a new life in store as a Mississippi River attraction, local tourism and conservation officials told The Hawk Eye Thursday. Roosevelt Ave., that opened April 26. It’s next to Taco Bell. The concession trailer/food truck drive-through sells espresso based drinks, drip coffee, blended frappes and lotus energy drinks. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday.
