WINCHESTER — The last two-game stretch for the James Wood and Millbrook High School softball teams had gone in two different directions. Brooklyn Wilson holds her players in high regard. “I just appreciate everything they've done for me,” Wilson said. “I'm sure I've learned more lessons from them than they have from me, so I hope that they recognize that.”That relationship will be one thing she misses from her time as the girls' basketball head coach at Sherando High School. BERRYVILLE — It may have taken an extra inning, but the Central High School baseball team found a way to win Wednesday night. Central scored three runs in the final two frames in a 7-5 Bull Run District victory over Clarke County in a game that went eight innings. Central coach Mike Bocock thought the team responded well to adversity and some questionable calls that didn’t go the Falcons’ way. “I thought our team hung in there,” Bocock said.
