JAMES ISLAND — A  watermain break March 27 closed Riverland Drive at Central Park Road, diverting traffic away from the area but causing an expansive traffic snarl in the region. An 8-inch water main broke at the corner of Riverland Drive and Bradham Road around 11 a.m. March 27, according to Charleston Water System spokesperson Mike Saia. Though it had been repaired by 5:30 p.m., about 60 customers were expected to be without water until about 6:30 p.m., Saia said.
