Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) – Chuck Eifler suffered a stroke more than 15 years ago. The impacts were lasting: No function in his left hand, and difficulty with movement in his left leg. “Because I was a mechanical engineer, I could do a lot with my hands like bolt things together, can’t do that anymore,” Eifler said. “I had to do workarounds on everything I did.

Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) – Jeff Nyman knows first-hand that knowing what do so when someone is suffering from cardiac arrest can be the difference between life and death. It was an average day for him and his friends on the pickle ball court when he suffered a heart attack. “One person called 9-1-1, the other person addressed the cut I had on my head, and the other person did CPR right away, and they did that for a minute or two, and then the Ashwaubenon police officer came with the AED,” Nyman said.

Marinette, Wis. (WFRV) – While 2023 and into 2024 might have been some of the most challenging times for Marinette’s Dan Buyarski and his health, those problems ended up saving his life. What started as kidney stones, followed by sepsis, led doctors to discover Buyarski’s heart troubles. “He came to the hospital for an aortic valve replacement,” said Dr. Luke Chong, a cardiologist at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.
