A Passaic County jury found a Paterson man guilty of the 2021 stabbing murder of two men and the assault of another. Jose Martinez, 36, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit, third-degree aggravated assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Two Rottweilers are at the center of a second lawsuit filed against Ridgefield Park and its Police Department, saying they didn't do enough to prevent the attacks. Gulsen Tamsen said she was "mauled" by Jeffrey D. Robinson Jr.'s Rottweilers on April 5, 2023, and that "the two dangerous animals" were left to roam Hobart and Sixth streets and Central Avenue. The lawsuit said Tamsen and a friend were walking on Central Avenue when the two dogs approached them and attacked her.
