COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — Coventry residents were raising questions and working towards a recall after a fiery town council meeting regarding fiscal transparency. Councilman Jonathan Pascua of District 1 introduced new legislation to increase financial transparency for the town, coming on the heels of new efforts to recall council members from their seats. “Why is it our taxes keep going up and yet we don’t find out where the money’s going?” Resident Denise Wolf said.

Several days in April are set aside to recognize adolescent and young adult cancer, and the unique challenges present for people between the ages of 15 and 39 battling the disease. “There’s the fear,” said Amy Benoit, a cancer survivor herself.

She and hundreds of other cultural icons grace the shelves of a unique museum in Massachusetts, offering a beautiful look into black history. It’s been historically hard for black mothers to find positive representation on store shelves when shopping for dolls for their young daughters and trying to shape their self-perception.
