    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Central Community College officials broke ground Friday on a new building at the Hastings Campus that will house the Automotive Careers Training Center. The current facility, where automotive classes are held, is 80 years old. While CCC officials say the building remains functional, it no longer meets the growing demand for programs in the automotive field.

B&B Theatres officially opened its Grand Island 7 location Thursday afternoon, taking over the former AMC site that closed in 2022. Community members gathered to celebrate the return of cinema — and more. “The community has really needed something like this,” said Michael Schmidt, general manager of B&B Theatres Grand Island 7.

    CENTRAL CITY, Neb. (KSNB) - Thursday is a big day for nonprofits in Hall, Howard, Hamilton and Merrick counties — it’s Go Big Give. The Merrick County Historical Museum is planning to give the community a sneak peek at its progress. The museum is funded entirely through donations from events like Go Big Give. Once complete, the facility will house historical items from the past. During the event Thursday, there will be complimentary coffee and rolls from 10 a.m. to noon.

    KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney High School served as the backdrop for the Nebraska Supreme Court on Tuesday morning, as the justices heard two real cases in front of a packed auditorium of students in celebration of Law Day. Kearney High alum and District Judge John Rademacher opened the event, setting the stage for what students were about to witness. A Nebraska State Patrol trooper then explained how the high school auditorium was transformed into a working courtroom for the occasion.

    GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - B&B Theatres Grand Island 7 is set to open Wednesday, May 1, in the new Conestoga Marketplace—replacing the former AMC location. And it’s bringing more than just movies to the big screen. The new entertainment center features a 66-game arcade, a full-service bar and kitchen, and even pickleball courts. “We wanted to bring a complete experience to movie watching,” said Paul Farnsworth, executive director of communications and content at B&B Theatres.
