However, with the new tariffs under President Donald Trump’s "America First" and "reciprocal" trade policies, businesses in Waukesha County and beyond "are facing significant uncertainty and unanswered questions related to trade policy," according to The Alliance.

OCONOMOWOC — When Anthony Sanchez saw a post on Facebook about an American flag in front of a local business in a tattered condition and the resulting critical comments, he jumped to action realizing that often people are quick to criticize but don’t make the effort to resolve the issue in the first place. "My whole feeling and thought is we are living in a time when people are quick to say something and not address it at the lowest level," Sanchez, a Town of Ottawa resident, said.

OCONOMOWOC — Music may be performed by dozens of students during the annual Oconomowoc Jazz Dance Fundraiser, but it’s much more than a concert, it serves as a lifeline in the Oconomowoc Area School District. The 20th Oconomowoc Jazz Dance Fundraiser will be held 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 9 at the Chandelier Ballroom in Hartford. Last year, about 750 people attended and raised more than $27,000 to support all of the Oconomowoc Area School District band programs and students.

OCONOMOWOC — What started out as a couple dozen fans of live music gathering on the front lawn of an Oconomowoc home has grown so much that it will be held exclusively in Fowler Park this summer and going forward. When Matt Spransy started the Magic Mansion Concert on the Porch series in 2010 at his home off North Lake Road on Forrest Drive, little did he know it would attract as many as 800 people.

OCONOMOWOC — There’s a lot more to vacuum cleaners than if they have a bag or are bagless and George Wisser has made it his mission to know the different options so he can help his customers at The Kleen It Shoppe select the best vacuum for them. However, after 31 years of selling vacuum cleaners, their accessories and parts, as well as servicing them, Wisser is ready to retire from the store at the end of April.
