The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an at-risk missing person last seen in Castaic in the early hours of Wednesday morning, an LASD Nixle alert stated. Shane Alfred de Silda, 39, was last seen on the 31000 block in the unincorporated area of Castaic at approximately 2:30 a.m., near the Castaic Sports Complex, the Nixle said.

A man fled on foot following a pursuit after a black BMW was seen traveling the wrong way on State Route 14 Friday, according to an official with the California Highway Patrol Newhall- area Office. At approximately 12:15 p.m. a CHP unit was on the northbound side of SR-14 near Escondido Canyon Road when the officer observed a black BMW traveling on the wrong side, CHP Newhall Public Information Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez stated in an email to The Signal.

The Santa Clarita Valley is under a heat advisory due to forecasted high temperatures on Friday, according to a Los Angeles County Department of Public Health release. According to the National Weather Service, the SCV is looking at temperatures as high as 98 degrees on Friday, and in order to avoid heat-related illness, the L.A. County Department of Public Health has released tips for residents.

Artist displays her works saved from Palisades Fire When Krishna Thangavelu saw a large tree on fire near her home, she quickly made the decision to evacuate. Grabbing as many personal items as possible, one of the few things she packed in her Honda Civic was a collection of her artworks. From the eight years since she started painting landscapes, flowers, and other nature-focused pieces, only a tenth of those survived. The rest were turned into a pile of ash and rubble.
