Federal prosecutors in LA announced filing 20 similar cases this week. Ventura County defendant was highlighted in the release. The Oxnard man remained in county jail custody Saturday. Federal prosecutors have filed immigration-related charges against a previously deported Oxnard man who has also been convicted in two felony firearms cases in Ventura County.

(This story has been updated with new information.)A mountain lion led authorities on a chase around a suburban Camarillo neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. Authorities received a report of a mountain lion sighting at 8:42 a.m. in the backyard of a house in the 2400 block of Lomita Street, said Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Cyrus Zadeh. The animal was initially spotted sitting underneath a backyard playset, he said. The site is on the north side of Daily Drive, east of Arneill Road.

3:49 pm PTLanes flooded on Hwy 101 in Thousand OaksGretchen WennerFlooding was reported around 3:30 p.m. across lanes of northbound Highway 101 approaching the transition to Highway 23 in Thousand Oaks, the California Highway Patrol's incident log showed. Notes indicated the drain in the center divider may need checking. Traffic along the northbound freeway had slowed along a much longer stretch, however, from Thousand Oaks through Camarillo and into Oxnard.
