BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — For the first time in about a week, there are no active wildfires reported in North Dakota. That’s welcome news to fire crews and other first responders who have spent more than a week battling at least eight pop-up blazes across the state. Two firefighters were injured while fighting a wildfire reported April 12 near McClusky. That fire was out by Monday and burned about 3,500 acres.

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Here are this morning’s top stories and weather with KX News On The Go:The Cedar River Fire is now 100-percent contained after it burned just under 9,000 acres — but, that wasn’t the only fire burning in the state. There was also a wildfire on Saturday, east of Highway 18-04 in Emmons County. It is also now out. That one burned about 3-thousand acres. Then another wildfire was reported Saturday afternoon, this one near McClusky.

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Wildfires are popping up like patches of weeds across North Dakota: Once you put down one infestation, another appears elsewhere. And some of the fires are proving stubborn in resisting efforts to extinguish them, while others shift with the wind, abandoning firefighters at one location to ignite once again at another spot. At least two firefighters have been injured battling the rash of fires.
