    BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — On Monday, state lawmakers passed a bill that could mean public libraries have to keep inappropriate material away from kids. In a 49-45 vote, the house passed Senate Bill 2307, which means both public and school libraries must move any obscene content into an area that’s not easily accessible to minors. That could be in a cabinet with a sign or behind a roped-off area where only adults are allowed.

But one sheriff’s deputy in Burleigh County says one recent call was memorable no matter how you slice it. Representative Karen Karls was sponsoring House Bill 1283, which was seeking to pay for diagnostic breast exams for people who are covered under the Public Employees Retirement System in North Dakota.

    Emmons County, N.D. (KXNET)- Two grass fires are burning in two counties in North Dakota. One of those fires was reported on Saturday afternoon in Emmons County, east of Highway 1804. North Dakota National Guard troops provided aid making water drops from a Blackhawk helicopter. As of Saturday evening, a National Guard spokesperson tells KX News one of the crews had dropped 17 buckets, a little over 10,000 gallons of water. Another fire was reported on Saturday afternoon near McClusky.
