    BISMARK, ND (KXNET) — A man died in an accident that happened on Lake Sakakawea over this past weekend. The Mountrail Sheriff’s Office told KX News they were called out to assist tribal police at around 7 p.m. on Friday after a man had tipped in his kayak while paddling near the Four Bears Memorial Bridge. The sheriff’s office says they then brought out a boat, but were unable to reach the man in time. The victim was a 38-year-old man from New Town.

    FARGO, ND (KXNET) — A man is now in jail after he’s accused of sending a threatening message to the U.S. Attorney’s office. Charles Dalzell was arrested this month after investigators say he sent an email to Jennifer Puhl’s office in Fargo. In the message, investigators say Dalzell had previously asked the office for help in his legal case, but was ignored. He says police were called on him after he had tried repeatedly to get in touch with the office.

    BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — After a violent event in Minnesota that killed a state lawmaker and injured another, North Dakota legislative leaders are making some changes. As we reported this week, legislative council has removed the home addresses of state legislators from their pages on North Dakota’s website. Last weekend, investigators say a gunman showed up at the homes of two state legislators and shot them and their spouses. One pair died, the other was seriously hurt.

    BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Right now, there’s a building project happening at Bismarck State College that will make room for more students. Workers are renovating space inside the health sciences building on campus to turn it into living quarters for 55 students. Right now, the building is used by young men and women who are studying careers in health care, including future nurses and paramedics. The project is being paid for thanks to recent funding approved by the state legislature.
