LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The outlook for precipitation this week never looked very promising...but I’m saying there’s a chance... An area of low pressure to our south will be responsible for shower-and-thunderstorm activity across parts of Kansas and Oklahoma over the next 48 hours. Our forecast area will be on the northern periphery of any precipitation shield...meaning isolated or widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, not “widespread” activity.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - As we head into the final day of the month, shower and thunderstorm chances return... A weak disturbance moving in from the west will increase our rain chances over much of central and eastern Nebraska from late Tuesday night into the day on Wednesday...and a weak frontal boundary will help to continue that chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms across the state Wednesday afternoon into the day on Thursday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - “Unsettled” is the weather buzzword for the rest of the week and into the weekend... A stalled frontal boundary...several upper-level disturbances...increasing low-level moisture...and an occasional increase in the low-level jet will all combine to keep a daily shower-and-thunderstorm threat in our forecasts for the rest of the week.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Typical April weather is on tap for much of the upcoming week...and that means some rainy periods...a threat for severe thunderstorms at times...and some pleasant conditions as well. An active pattern will dominate the third week of April. After a chilly Monday morning, we enjoyed very pleasant conditions for most of Monday...but a weak front sliding east across the state will mean a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms heading into Monday evening and overnight.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The week ahead looks quiet with seasonal temperatures until a warm-up develops for the upcoming weekend... While parts of the US have been pounded by severe weather over the past couple of weeks...our area has remained fairly tranquil. We expect our low-key weather pattern to continue for this upcoming week...with a couple of low-end precipitation chances from Tuesday-through-Thursday.
