LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The week ahead looks quiet with seasonal temperatures until a warm-up develops for the upcoming weekend... While parts of the US have been pounded by severe weather over the past couple of weeks...our area has remained fairly tranquil. We expect our low-key weather pattern to continue for this upcoming week...with a couple of low-end precipitation chances from Tuesday-through-Thursday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After days of high heat and humidity a cold front dropping into the region will bring “degrees” of relief...and some scattered thunderstorm chances to the area... HEAT ADVISORIES and EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS will end by mid-evening on Monday as a frontal boundary pushes slowly across 10-11 Country. This front will bring noticeably cooler, less humid air to our local forecasts...as well as a chance for some thunderstorms.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - In the last few weeks repeated rounds of strong thunderstorms have brought severe weather and flooding rains to much of the region...but this activity has also kept our daily temperatures below average for this time of year...that’s about to change... Our immediate forecast concerns will be the chance for some widely-scattered (as opposed to widespread) strong-to-severe thunderstorms from Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night...mainly for portions of eastern Nebraska.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The week continues to unfold as expected...slow warming each day, becoming more pronounced by the weekend...with increasing humidity levels accompanying the warm-up late in the week as well... Our expected temperature-rise is on track for the remainder of the week...with readings in the mid 80s to mid 90s on Wednesday...upper 80s to upper 90s by Thursday...around 90° to 100° by Friday...and 95° to 105° for much of 10-11 Country by Saturday and Sunday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A bit of a pattern change develops this week as temperatures warm significantly...and thunderstorm chances become more isolated... A rather pleasant start to the week will give way to much hotter and more humid conditions as the week goes along...culminating in high temperatures between 95° and 105° by the weekend.
