One person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in south Kansas City Saturday, police said. Officers responded around 2:44 a.m. to eastbound Interstate 470 near Hillcrest Road on a reported collision. A white Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly sped east on I-470 when the driver failed to turn at a curve in the highway, according to a crash log. The Tahoe traveled off the left side of the road and hit a guard rail.

A paramedic was injured while transporting a patient to a hospital Friday morning, according to the Kansas City Fire Department. Just before 10 a.m., officers with the Kansas City Police Department responded with firefighters to a "crew emergency," said Riley Nolan, a fire department spokesman. An altercation allegedly took place between the paramedic and a patient in the back of an ambulance, Nolan said. The fire department did not say what led to the altercation.

One person was left with serious injuries when a car collided with a pedestrian in northeast Kansas City Thursday, police said. Officers responded to a reported crash just after 10 p.m. at Independence Avenue and Brighton Avenue . According to a crash log, the pedestrian was allegedly walking on the double yellow line in the middle of Independence Avenue when they were hit and knocked to the ground by a red Chevrolet Blazer traveling west.

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting at an apartment building in southeast Kansas City Thursday, police said. Officers responded to a call for a disturbance and the sound of gunshots just after 10 p.m. at the 4300 block of Northern Ave. They found a man outside an apartment building suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a police spokesperson.
