    Johnson County prosecutors have charged a Mission man with attempted murder in connection with a shooting over the weekend, according to court records. Isaiah Chritsian Joest is charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm, fleeing from law enforcement and battery of a law enforcement officer. Prosecutors allege that on Sunday, Joest shot into a vehicle while a woman was inside, intending to harm her. Joest then allegedly fled from police after the shooting.

    A fatal crash killed one woman and seriously injured another in Clay County near Kearney Monday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers responded to the crash around 10:13 a.m. on Missouri Route 92, east of Highway A. The crash happened when a 2024 Chevy Malibu driving west crossed the center line at the top of a hill. The Malibu struck a 2020 Nissan Sentra driving east, according to an online crash report.

    A woman was killed when she was hit by a truck in downtown Olathe Thursday night, police said. Officers with the Olathe Police Department responded around 9:12 p.m. to East Santa Fe Street and North Blake Street to a reported crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found a woman unresponsive in the street, according to a news release. Officers performed life-saving measures at the scene, but paramedics later pronounced the woman dead.
