Four dead after train hits car on tracksFour people were killed early Sunday in Shelby County after a train hit their vehicle. Illinois State Police report the collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. at a rural railroad crossing north of Effingham. All the victims were male and from Neoga and Effingham. Officials said the warning lights and bells had been activated, signaling an incoming train. The train did not derail as a result of the crash.
