We’re headed to central Connecticut this week for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands. The winds will have a bit of a bite at times, and I think there’s an edge to be had. As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact.

We’re headed just northeast of Pittsburgh this week to Oakmont, PA for the illustrious U.S. Open. While the weather starts on a high note, it turns a bit ugly for the weekend. As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring.

We’re headed just northwest of Toronto this week for the RBC Canadian Open. Much like most Canadians themselves, the weather for this tournament is, in a word, nice.

The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane season begins on June 1 and lasts through the end of November. After a record season for the Gulf Coast in 2024, which included Hurricane Beryl making landfall in southeast Texas, ABC13 Meteorologist Elyse Smith has a preview of what to look out for this year. Let's start with the El Niño, or La Niña.

This week, we find ourselves in the middle of the Buckeye State for the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. I have nothing to add about the city itself since I’ve never been there, but I can add quite a bit about the weather we’ll see, which at times will be very, very ugly. As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

⚾️👀 Looks like they are gonna play in PIT. Rain not done yet, but light enough and tapering off (so there’s no in-game delay risk)
