This week brings us just outside of Philly for the Truist Championship. While the weekend weather looks great, we’ve got some bumps in the road before we get there. As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring.

We’re teeing off this week for THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, in McKinney Texas just north of Dallas. As it typical in Texas during severe weather season, the weather will keep us on our toes. While we can expect the typical New Orleans heat, humidity, and chances for rain, the wind looks like it will cooperate nicely. There’s nothing quite like Masters week, especially when the weather cooperates at Augusta.
