DENVER — A new measure introduced by two Colorado legislators would increase the potential penalty for someone who kills a bicyclist or pedestrian while driving carelessly. The bill would re-classify careless driving - causing death, now a misdemeanor, as a felony – a move that could mean a significantly longer sentence. It’s sponsored by state Sen. John Carson, a Republican who represents Douglas County, and state Sen. Marc Snyder, a Democrat who represents El Paso and Teller counties.

Watched this story while at the gym this morning. Might be time for @9NEWS to refresh their legal correspondence team. 2nd Degree Assault hasn’t been mandatory prison in Colorado for quite awhile. Don’t worry, @KyleClark and @Marshall9News I know a guy.

Once said he studied the playbook by the light of the jukebox!

Tom Brady: Monitored his health with a strict exercise and nutrition plan and regular advanced medical testing. Ken Stabler: Woke up that morning so figured he was probably ok. Advantage: Stabler https://t.co/xDpcRyE0dL

Great piece, A.J.!

Nearly 10 years ago, I met a Congressman from rural MN who drove around for hours to help a single Veteran get a pair of hearing aids so he could hear his dying wife’s voice. Never would have guessed then that #TimWalz would be in running for VP. https://t.co/AAIDhnLzIo
