    JEFFERSON COUNTY — U.S. marshals have arrested a man who is accused of abusing two young children and a dog at their Jefferson County home. Mason Lee Williams, 24, was arrested without incident Monday morning in El Dorado, Illinois, said Grant Bissell, a spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Williams was charged last week with 12 counts of child abuse. Authorities said he repeatedly beating a 5-year-old boy and nearly suffocating a 2-year-old girl.

    JEFFERSON COUNTY — A home surveillance camera recorded a man abusing two young children and a dog at their home in Jefferson County, court records say. Mason Lee Williams, 24, repeatedly beat a 5-year-old boy and nearly suffocated a 2-year-old girl, authorities said. A camera mounted in a bedroom captured the abuse over a two-week period, starting in about mid-April, Detective Lance Pippin of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in court papers.

    ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A man was charged Tuesday in the shooting death of a Hancock Place high school student. Martin Tullis III, 18, was held Wednesday on $1 million cash bond on charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree attempted robbery. Authorities said Tullis helped kill Logan Snyder, a 16-year-old boy who died Nov. 14 in Lemay. According to charging documents, Tullis and another teenage boy pushed Logan to the ground and shot him.
