ST. LOUIS — The innocent motorist who was killed last weekend when a car fleeing police broadsided her vehicle has been identified as 44-year-old Hyansama Reese. A stolen car ran a red light at Natural Bridge and Union Boulevard and crashed into Reese's car the night of April 13, police said. Reese lived in the 5300 block of Enright Avenue. She was a single mother of three and worked for Express Scripts. Police arrested five people, including three juveniles, in the stolen car.

ST. LOUIS — Thieves were persistent the first week of April as they scavenged for copper in the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood. They cut overhead telecommunication lines in an alley between McPherson and Kingsbury avenues. Repair crews needed two days to restore internet and Wi-Fi to Katrina Stierholz and her neighbors. Four hours later, thieves returned to the same alley. They did it again. "It is maddening," Stierholz said. "It's worrisome and generally inconvenient.

A Ferguson father was charged Thursday with firing a gunshot that hit his sleeping son. The son, 14, is recovering after being struck in the chest April 10 at the family's home in the 1200 block of Lang Drive, court documents said. The boy's father, Bobby J. Jones, was charged in at-large warrants with second-degree assault of a special victim, armed criminal action and three counts of endagering the welfare of a child. Bond was set at $150,000.

ST. CHARLES — Two young sisters were injured, one critically, in a fire at the Sunnydale Mobile Home Park on Wednesday morning. St. Charles fire Capt. Kelly Hunsel said one of the girls and their mother were able to escape on their own, before firefighters got there. The fire was about 9 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Pinedale Drive. Firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire when they arrived, and the mother outside told them her 2-year-old daughter was still inside, Hunsel said.
