The salary for New Jersey lawmakers will nearly double when a pay hike, approved by the legislators and signed off by the governor, goes into effect. This comes in the midst of other substantial salary increases in state legislatures elsewhere. In New Jersey, legislators' salaries are $49,000 annually now, and will increase 67% to $82,000 in 2026, their first raise in two decades. This will make them among the highest-paid state legislators in the nation.

If you want to get the full experience of the total solar eclipse in April, Delta Air Lines has a flight made just for you. It's going to fly in the path of totality. That path will begin in Texas at about 1:30 p.m. April 8 and will arc over Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine and small parts of Tennessee and Michigan, according to NASA.

William Martin raised his middle finger at a New Jersey police detective, and he got slapped with a ticket. He was charged with disorderly conduct in New Milford, Bergen County, in 2016. The ticket he received said this: “Behaved or exhibited disorderly conduct, specifically by extending his left arm out the driver’s side window and raise his left middle finger [at the officer].”But the case was dropped by the county prosecutor because flipping the bird is a First Amendment issue.
