He said his neighbor’s septic tank is responsible. “I know if it doesn’t get fixed, it’s only going to get worse,” he said. “Their septic system has overflowed, it’s come into my yard, comes into my backyard, which comes under my cellar access from the outside of the house, and gets into my drain field.”The sewage is seeping beyond his yard.

She said the boarded up windows and overgrown grass of the properties surrounding hers have made it hard to make the area feel like home. “It can be distressing,” she said. She said there are many negative side effects of living near the unkempt houses. “We get a lot of people that speed down here and then they kind of dump trash,” she said.
