    ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer provided a progress report Thursday regarding the city’s pothole backlog. One month into her tenure as mayor, Spencer said her administration has reduced the backlog by 80%. As of Thursday night, the city’s website states there have been 1,013 repairs in the last 30 days. The city said on April 20, there were 359 open requests, and on Thursday, there were 46. A spokesperson also said the average time to fulfill a request is 6.1 days.

(First Alert 4) - Joni Bunch said she was nearing the end of a long road trip from Kansas City, Kansas to a friend’s home in the St. Louis metro when she stopped for gas at Mobil on Highway 67 in West Alton. “I got out and I didn’t leave very much space between my car and the pump,” she told First Alert 4. She said her car was unlocked. “I got out to get gas and I turned slightly and that’s when I saw him in the car,” she recalled.
